Invest in yourself and your writing…
Join us for what may be the most productive six days of your writing life.
Writing is hard. Pulling that wonderful story out of your technicolor imagination can be difficult work. Writing takes time, commitment, and, at the heart of it, a love of the craft. Or at least, a love of having finished writing. One thing every writer quickly realizes, though, writing is a never-ending learning quest. The NIP was developed to be a valued oasis on your journey.
Each Novel Bookcamp Week Offers 3 Concurrent Programs,
Each Designed to Fit Your Level of Need
Bookcamp Workshop
The Bookcamp Workshop lets our staff of professional authors, editors, and literary agents directly assist you in developing your book-length work-in-progress with classes on craft and technique, presentations on publishing and insider advice on writing, one-on-one consultations with our staff, and opportunities to pitch you WIP to agents and publishers. If you are starting your first book-length project or want to learn more from the experts on how to complete a book, the Bookcamp is for you.
Writing Retreat
On the other hand, the Writing Retreat offers you six days of personal writing time to develop a story idea, crank up the word count, meet a deadline, or edit and polish your work before sending it out to an agent or publisher. In addition, the Retreat offers access to various presentations you may wish to sit in on, with an experienced writing mentor who can answer your questions, brainstorm ideas, help you unravel knotty plot problems, and gently encourage you to stay focused on your WIP. All within a writing-oriented environment surrounded by fellow writers. If you feel you need writing time more than instruction, the Writing Retreat awaits.
Book Coach
The Novel Bookcamp Book Coach Program is intended for experienced writers looking for a thorough, developmental review of their work before they submit their manuscripts to Publishers or Literary Agents. Our Book Coach is a published multi-genre novelist with experience as an editor, publisher, and writing/book adviser. This program is limited to 4 writers per Bookcamp Week whose applications are accepted by the Bookcamp Staff with final approval by the Book Coach. Once accepted into the program, writers are strongly advised not to revise their work further until after attending their Bookcamp Week to avoid confusion.
